I have been asked serval times why I choose to travel with my husband during baseball season. I have heard it all from, “Isn’t that exhausting with two kids?” to “Don’t live in your husband’s shadow.” So, what better way to answer then write a blog post.
I am called to be a wife. To support my husband not be in competition with him. To follow him, support him and love him. His dreams are my dreams as mine are his. We are a team and I love doing life with him.
Above all, I ask myself, “What does God say?”
“It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” Genesis 2:18. I am to be my husband’s helpmate. God created me just for my husband and this lifestyle.
“Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.” Ephesians 5:22. What my husband strongly feels for us to do as a family is what we roll with.
“A husband should satisfy his wife’s needs, and a wife should satisfy her husband's needs.” 1 Corinthians 7:3. Let’s be honest, my husband has a lot of needs.
“Train up a child in the way he should go.” Proverbs 22.6. We are able to teach our kids much more when we are both fully present. How to love their future spouse, what a Christ-centered marriage looks like, etc.
We both believe God’s intentions are for us to be together, not apart. He has prepared our hearts for this. So, for now, we travel often and pray a lot.
Lots of love, Sarah.
